Archival Processing
Archival processing provides maximum permanence for silver gelatin fiber-based prints, using state-of-the-art archival technology to eliminate residual chemicals that ordinary washing doesn't remove. With proper care, prints processed in this manner should last hundreds of years.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, indoor pollutants or cigarette smoke, high humidity or direct contact with acidic substances will eventually degrade the print. It can therefore be best protected by being matted and framed with archival materials or stored in acid-free polyethylene bags.
With proper care, prints that have been archivally processed should last hundreds of years. |
