Work Print Consultations
After our first contact I will make a straight print in order to closely examine the negative, with an eye to determining its enlargement and cropping potentials. Based on this information you decide the cropped print size, paper and toning combination.
I then return to the darkroom, and through the use of traditional wet darkroom techniques – such as negative intensification, unsharp masking, print dodging/burning, fogging/flashing, split-filter printing, print reduction (bleaching) and toning – I create a rough draft, or work print.
Together, we go over this work print to determine any final adjustments desired for the final print. This step-by-step consultation process ensures that my work will manifest your artistic vision.
